Amaya L

Amaya discovered the practice of Pilates with her mom in 2020. Their shared Zoom mat classes during the pandemic became a transformative experience, helping Amaya overcome a chronic low back injury from dance while regaining strength and mobility safely. Amaya's love for Pilates lies in its inclusivity, believing anyone can embrace the practice regardless of age or athletic ability, making it a universal challenge. Certified through Pilates Sports Center in Los Angeles in the summer of 2023, Amaya is on the verge of graduating from Cal Poly with a major in Kinesiology, working towards her goal of becoming a physical therapist. Her favorite Pilates move, arm circles in straps, reflects her appreciation for the practice's dynamic elements. Amaya's teaching style follows the classic Joseph Pilates method infused with added education, creating an enriching experience for her students. Outside the studio, Amaya immerses herself in her passion for dance (jazz, ballet, and contemporary), enjoys beach outings with friends, and bonds with her family through skiing. A remarkable fun fact about Amaya is that she's conquered both skiing and surfing in a single day. With a mantra of "It's all good," Amaya brings positivity and dedication to her Pilates journey and teaching.
